A few weeks back a friend asked me to go shoot the wire factory she works at before it closes operations at the end of the year. I thought it sounded cool and said sure, why not? I like poking around in weird places like old factories. Well, it was pretty awesome. This place has some serious history behind it, and walking through there was like walking back in time: the lighting, the sounds, the smells–they all spoke to a trade done the old school way in an industry that is moving toward new school efficiencies. It will be a shame when the place closes…here are a few of the several hundred shots I took that day to capture a lost art before it’s gone forever.
