Another First Pres church partner serving teenagers, Urban Peak has been reaching out to homeless and runaway youth for over ten years. In Colorado Springs, more than 350 children and young adults up to age 24 are homeless on any given night.
Tucked away between nondescript buildings on East Cucharras Street downtown, youth like this one have their basic needs met in a safe 20-bed shelter. They also receive intensive case management, health services, a variety of life skills classes, and take part in activities in the community ranging from hiking trips to volunteering.
