Tragedy 1

Colorado Springs is a town that knows turmoil and tragedy. Who will ever forget the Waldo Canyon fire of 2012 (not to mention the Black Forest Fire a year later) that burned 347 homes—like this one on Linger Way—caused over 450 million dollars of damage, and killed two people.

As the flames crested the mountains and raced toward thecity itself, Colorado Springs—and First Pres—stepped up. Case inpoint: FEMA approached First Pres to help lead community recoveryefforts and address unmet needs resulting from the fires as well asserve as an ongoing American Red Cross emergency shelter site.
