Third shoot in Ethiopia this year. What can I say? The coffee–and the country–never gets old, that’s for sure. Here are a few selects:

They’re not off to a real fast start, but this year’s version of the Colorado College Tiger Hockey Team is headed in a good direction. For the past several years I’ve shot the home games when not on assignment with my “day” job.
I’ve had a great time, and love to practice my craft under different conditions than I am used to, as well as get in some time watching great college hockey. Go Tigers!
After like 40 trips to Africa over the last 10 years, I’m now starting to revisit countries–some several times now–and even revisit places. Like northern Uganda: I’ve been to Gulu and places north in this country more than just a few times. But every time is wonderful. This trip was to visit with refugees coming into Adjumani from South Sudan and how Medical Teams International is providing great care for them. I witnessed a live birth, among other things, and saw life in a refugee camp in a whole new way…
One of the best parts of the trip? Getting chauffeured around Uganda by the one and only Daniel Ward, seen here admiring the Nile River just above the famous Murchison Falls. Definitely a must see if you ever find your self in Uganda.
My cell rang the other day. On the other end was a local artist named Andy Tirado. “Can you come shoot my art work at the Fine Arts Center before the show ends?” he asked me. Â The show ended that day. I went on down and discovered a VERY cool show. Glad I made it in time before it was all wrapped….
I’ve been to Haiti quite a few times now, but it’s been a year or two since the last time, when I came face to face with Haiti’s newly elected President. Anyhow, this time was quite different than holing up in Port-au-Prince and bumping around town dodging rubble. This time I hiked WAY up in the hills to do a story on traditional birth attendants that Medical Teams International is helping equip to better serve expecting and new mothers. It was hot and humid but terribly fun.
