Ride

One of the best things about this job is getting assignments that take me to new places to shoot new things. That is what Great Outdoors Colorado did for me in the absolutely stunning summer months of Colorado this year. Two shoots stick out, the first of which was a trip to Durango to see how GOCO has enabled a greater expanse of land to be used for hiking, running, and…for the world famous mountain biking in Horse Gulch, Durango’s crown jewel of recreation areas. So with my gear pack on my back, under sunny skies I rode up into the hills above Durango to shoot people riding these famous trails in one of the best parts of our entire state. What a shoot!

The above photograph has become the new “face” of GOCO, serving as the cover to their 2014 annual report and many other use.

Oh, the second shoot? I’m saving that for a later post, so check back soon!

Oh By Gosh By Golly…

…It’s time for graduation and Mollie.

I have a whole slew of nieces and nephews and the last few years I have shot some senior high school photos and graduation ceremonies for the ones graduating. This year I shot Sam Sheridan (coming soon) and Mollie Danel. Here is my fantastic niece, Mollie:

Niger 2014

In February I was on assignment with Mercy Corps in Niger (incidentally, you might recall my going to Central Africa Republic with them the summer before last. C.A.R. has been pretty hot and, sadly, in the news again). At any rate, Niger was an awesome trip and afforded me the chance to not only shoot some really great stuff for Mercy Corps but also to be impressed yet again by their work in the field. Nicely done Mercy Corps!

Cambodia

In February and March of this year I went on assignment to Cambodia with World Relief as part of an 18-month series of trips to showcase their work around the world. After a fantastic stint in Africa in August of 2013, it was great to see their work in another part of the world. There were many memorable moments and images…and plenty of reasons for me to continue to appreciate World Relief and all they are doing in the world of development.
